Chakhroma Youth Organisation set to host 52nd Sports Meet 2023

DIMAPUR — Chakhroma Youth Organisation (CYO) is all set to host its 52^nd Sports Meet 2023 from October 21 to October 28 at Chümoukedima. Advisor of Municipal Affairs and Urban Development, Government of Nagaland, Zhaleo Rio has consented to grace the opening ceremony as special guest while Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Kevithuto Sophie will grace the closing ceremony as guest of honor.

This was announced during press conference by the President of CYO, Seyieneilhou Keyho here on Monday at Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) Hall, Chümoukedima on October 16. Keyho said that CYO currently has 42 affiliated villages, and they are anticipating the participation of more than 30 teams in the event.

Sports Secretary of CYO, Seyievil Zhotso informed that the event will include men’s football and volleyball for both men and women. While the men’s football league matches will be played at three separate grounds in Chümoukedima, the volleyball competition for both men and women will be a knockout matches which will be played at the Chümoukedima local ground.

The Press and Information secretary of CYO, Sededvilie Angami informed that the winner of the men’s football tournament will receive a cash prize of INR 80,000. The runner-up will be awarded INR 50,000, while individual prizes will be given to the best goalkeeper, best defender, and top scorer, each of them receiving INR 3,000. The player of the tournament will be awarded with a cash prize of INR 5,000.

For the volleyball tournament, Angami informed that both the men’s and women’s winning teams will be awarded cash prizes of INR 30,000 each, and the runner-up teams will receive INR 20,000 each. Furthermore, the best players in both the volleyball categories will each receive a cash prize of INR 3,000.
