Chakhesang wrestlers undergoing intensive coaching at Kisama
DIMAPUR —Eighteen Chakhesang wrestlers are currently undergoing intensive coaching and conditioning at Kisama Heritage Village in preparation for the 29th Nagaland Wrestling Championship, which is set to take place on March 26.
The coaching camp, initiated by the Chakhesang Wrestling Association, commenced on March 11 and is scheduled to run until March 26, as per a press release.
Vekhozo Ringa, president of the Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA), said the preparatory camp aims to bring the wrestlers together, train them as a team, and enhance their fitness for the competition. He expressed hope that the wrestlers would make the best use of the coaching camp in preparation for the championship.
Former Naga wrestling champions will impart their knowledge and guide the wrestlers during the camp. Chisazo Dawhuo will be the camp supervisor, with Vekhriyi Chuzho and Surhonieyi Soho as team coaches.
The team physician is Dr. Dietho Koza, assistant professor at Nagaland Institute of Medical Science and Research, Kohima, and the team chaplain is David Chuzho, associate pastor at Chakhesang Baptist Church (CBC) (MH).
The selected wrestlers for Naga style include Venuzo Dawhou (Chokri Area), Vemele Thingo (Chokri), Rukukhoto Khesoh (Chozuba area), Huluyi D Vadeo (Secheku area), Kuneshoyo Zuo (Chozuba), Kuluvezo Soho (Phek), Cuhuta Theluo (Secheku), Rukulhu Phesao (Chozuba), Pfusato Tetseo (Chokri), Sao Vezuh (Phek), Vekhosazo Doso (Chozuba), Ruvezo D Vadeo (Secheku), Vevokho Ruho (Chokri), Thuputha Hesuh (Secheku), Huravo Vadeo (Secheku), Venu Vadeo (Chozuba), Serayi Tetseo (Phek), and Besukhozo Resu (Chokri).
