- DIMAPUR — The
Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has issued a directive to all non-governmental
organisations (NGOs), political groups, and other entities within Chakhesang
jurisdiction to refrain from levying any form of tax or extortion on local
youths and students engaged in new or existing business ventures.
- According to a press release, this directive stems from the
Standing Resolution of the CSU's 2nd Union Assembly (2024–2026), held at
Mesulumi village, where the house resolved to take a firm stand against illegal
taxation, extortion, and corruption in recognition of the role of youths and
students in fostering economic growth and self-employment through
entrepreneurship and business ventures.
- It was stated that this tax-free initiative aims to
encourage and support young entrepreneurs in establishing their businesses
without the additional burden of taxes and to create a conducive environment
for innovation and enterprise.
