Dimapur, March 28 (EMN): Chakhesang Youth Organisation Kohima (CYOK) vehemently condemned the March 3 incident at Fellowship Colony, Dimapur, in which one of bonafide member Pothita Phesea-o, son of late Vamuzo was physically and verbally assaulted by one Hokuto Zhimomi.
While condemning the ‘heinous and barbaric act’, the organisation said such senseless assault and negative attitude is unacceptable in a civilised society especially when Pothita was carrying out developmental activities well within his own plot of land having valid land patta. The organisation, in a press release issued by its president Vevoyi outrightly challenged the defamatory remark of Hokuto Zhimomi for tarnishing and putting a blot upon one of our prominent leaders.
It urged the police and law enforcing agencies to take the case with outmost seriousness and punish the perpetrator(s) as per the law of the land without any delay. CYOK also called upon all the sensible and right minded individuals and civil bodies to out condemn such heinous act.
Meanwhile, Chozuba Range Public Organization (CRPO) too has strongly condemned the assault and threat to one of its members, Pothita Phesao by one Hokuto Zhimomi, BJP candidate for DMC in Dimapur on March 3.
It alleged that Hokuto Zhimomi, without any provocation or incitation, physically assaulted and verbally abused Pothita Phesao who was visiting his plot of land for developmental works.
CRPO decried the action of such person who could stoop down to such a level which is only fit for rogues and brutes. It said such unprovoked assaults and threats should not become a norm and be condoned or tolerated in a civilised society.
It endorsed the stand taken by the Yorübami village council, a constituent village of the CRPO, which was published in the local dailies on March 25. It further appealed to the law enforcement agencies to book the culprit and deliver justice to the victim.
