Chakhesang community organises sanitation drive in Kohima

DIMAPUR — In view of the upcoming combined Christmas celebration to be held at the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) Convention Centre and mass celebratory fest at Naga Students’ Federation Solidarity Park in Kohima, the men department and steward committee members of all the Chakhesang churches in Kohima organised a sanitation drive in Kohima on Friday.

According to a press statement issued by the celebration publicity committee, the cleaning drive was conducted at the premises of the NBCC Convention Centre and NSF Solidarity Park in Kohima. Besides, the members have constructed toilets and set up dust bins at different locations.

It stated that pastors and church workers of respective churches have participated in the day-long sanitation drive.

Meanwhile, it informed that Rev. Dr. Zelhuo Keyho, general secretary of NBCC, would share the word of God on the theme “The word became flesh” (John 1:14) during the worship service, while Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, chairman of Kohima Chakhesang Pastors’ Fellowship, would share greetings and Rev. Vikuo Rhi, pastor of CBCK, would pronounce the opening prayer.

It added that Rev. Zhowhuyi Nyekha, senior pastor of CCRC, Upper PWD, would said the benediction while, Rev. K Luruo, would offered blessing prayer for the cake and mass celebratory feast.

It mentioned that the combined Christmas celebration is observed once in five years. The central committee has invited all its esteemed members irrespective of denomination to take part in the celebration.
