Dimapur, Aug. 10 (EMN): Chada Nyi is stated to be a festival that has celebrants cleaning their village, roads and paths leading to fields. Chada Nyi was celebrated on Saturday by villagers of Peducha in Kohima village.
From the initiative of the village’s council, updates that were issued to the media on Saturday informed, a cleanliness drive cleared “all road side plants and bushes” along NH 29 in the village’s jurisdiction.
The village was awarded Nirmal Gram Puraskar in the year 2009, the updates stated.
During the event, the village’s chairman Tsilie Suohumvü advised the youths and individuals to play a major role for the success of the ‘clean village mission.’
Also, chairman of the Watsan committee, Bizo viyie was stated to have said that the village was privileged to implement solid waste management this year, which includes collection, removal and safe disposal of waste with the participation of every member of the village community.’
