CEO Nagaland apprises political parties of election laws amendment

Dimapur, Oct. 31 (EMN): The members of political parties in Nagaland were apprised of the amendment of election laws, application of forms 6,7,8 and new form 6B relating to voluntary linking of Aadhaar with election photo identity card (EPIC) at a state-level meeting convened by V Shashank Shekhar, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland on Monday.

The meeting was in connection with special summary revision of electoral rolls with January 1, 2023 as the qualifying date, an update from DIPR stated.

The members were also apprised of the appointment of a booth level agent (BLA) in every polling station. They were briefed about the four qualifying dates i.e., January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1 for the special summary revision 2022-2023. It stated that the draft e-roll will be published on November 9.

Officers of CEO’s office including Ruokuovituo Khezhie, Addl. Chief Electoral Officer; Awa Lorin, Joint Chief Electoral Officer; R Mhathung, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer; and Alila Chang, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer were also present in the meeting.
