Centre’s common review mission team visits Kiphire

Dimapur, Oct. 23 (EMN):
A team from Delhi under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, government of India, conducted its 13th Common Review Mission (CRM) in Kiphire district from October 18 to the 21st.

The team was lead by Dr. Neha Dumka, senior consultant of National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) along with Dr. Kapil Joshi, consultant of UNICEF and representative of Care India representative; Dr. Amlan Majumdar; Ayushi Rai, NHSRC consultant; Dr. Manjari, a research fellow; Srinadh, representative from NITI Ayog; Harikrishnan, National Health Mission (NHM) finance from Ministry of H and FW, an update from the chief medical office (CMO), Kiphire, stated on October 22.

The team visited the District Hospital Kiphire, Community Health Centre Pungro, two primary health centres (PHCs) at Likimro and Amahator PHC), and four upgraded Health and Wellness Centres at Longmatra, Chomi, Phelungre and Singrep.

A total of seven team members from Delhi accompanied by the state and district team assisted the monitoring team.

During their visit, the team also interacted with the community and church leaders along with the ASHA, Anganwadi workers, pregnant and lactating mothers regarding health service deliveries on all the health programmes and their role in promoting health activities.

On October 21, a de-briefing programme was held in the conference hall of the District Hospital Kiphire where Dr. Neha Dumka, team leader, made a power point presentation on the key findings of the district. She appreciated the collaborative efforts of the community and health workers in providing better health services. She also gave a remarks on some areas of concern and recommendations. The team also appreciated the role and services of the community health officers.

The programme was chaired by the deputy CMO, Dr. Tinurenla Anichari, while a folk song was presented by Seyochung Village Union, Kiphire town.

In her closing remark, Nyembo Wallim, SDO (Civil) Kiphire, appreciated the team for their commendable job and appealed to the team members to bring up changes in the existing challenges faced by the medical department in the district. She also appreciated the medical officers and staff in the district for their dedicated service.

The state team was led by additional director, Dr. Bendangla Longkumer, along with Dr. NW Ezung, SPO, NCD; Dr. Thonghoi Lam, SPO, (NHM); Dr. Kikameren, deputy director (planning); Dr. Akaba Jamir, deputy director (RCH); Dr. Apichetla, APO (RNTCP); Dr. Longri Kichu, UNICEF consultant; Pairson Rapungna, programme officer (CPHC, Jhpiego); and Kukehieto Tase, NVBDCP consultant.
