Dimapur, Oct. 26 (EMN): Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Rameswar Teli said the Central Government will grant 75 per cent subsidies for food processing industries in the north-eastern states.
According to all India Radio, the minister said this during his visit to Tripura Mega Food Park at Tulakona Industrial area on October 25.
Addressing a media conference at the state BJP Party head office, Rameswar said the central government has decided to set up 42 new food parks all over the country, out of which two will be set up at Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh, the report said. The minister also said that the government is eager to put emphasis on the food processing based industries in Northeast.
