Centre sanctions INR 1113.21 crore to manage Covid-19 pandemic

For the management of Covid-19 pandemic from January 2020 till date, a total of 1.95 lakh N95 masks and 0.30 lakh PPE kits were distributed to Nagaland. Besides, 120 ventilators were also allotted for Nagaland.

This was stated in a written reply by the minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, a PIB report stated.

He also stated that during the financial year 2019-2020, an amount of INR 1113.21 crore was released to the states and union territory administration under National Health Mission towards management and containment of Covid-19 pandemic.

The report also stated that during the financial year 2020-21, an amount of INR 6309.90 crore was released to the states and union territories under the Covid-19 emergency response and health systems preparedness package- a central sector scheme.

He stated that a total of 178.14 lakh of PPE coveralls, 423.40 lakh of N95 masks, 173.00 lakhs of goggles, 242.10 lakh of gloves and 38,863 ventilators were procured for the management of Covid-19 since January 2020 till date.

According to the report, the amounts incurred for coveralls was INR 1540.34 crore including INR 339.47 crore for N95 masks, INR 369.16 crore for goggles, INR 31.75 crore for gloves and INR 1850.76 crore for ventilators.
