Centre approves INR 390 cr. assistance to three states including Nagaland

Dimapur, June 29 (EMN): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh presided over a meeting in New Delhi on Friday to consider additional central assistance for the states of Andhra Pradesh (affected by flood during 2017-18), Arunachal Pradesh (affected by flood and landslide during 2017-18), Nagaland (affected by flood and landslide during 2017-18), and Andhra Pradesh (affected by Rabi drought during 2017-18). According to a PIB press release, Union minister for Agriculture Radha Mohan Singh; Union Finance Minister Piyush Goyal; Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba; and senior officers of the ministries of Home Affairs, Finance and Agriculture, and the Niti Aayog attended in the meeting. “The HLC approved the additional assistance from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) of Rs 179.91 crore (Rs. 66.77 crore for floods + Rs. 113.14 crore for drought - rabi) for the state of Andhra Pradesh,  Rs 144.26 crore for the state of Arunachal Pradesh and Rs 65.69 crore for the state of Nagaland.”
