Dimapur, July 17 (EMN): A two-member central team namely Minga Sherpa and Dharan visited Longleng and held a coordination meeting on Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA) along with the line departments on July 15 and 16 in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng.
The team along with the line departments also visited Hukphang and Lingtak village during the field visits. During the field visits, projects related to water shed management, irrigations, ponds, traditional wells, etc were shown to the central team. After the site visits, the team held a meeting with the village council members and public to have better knowledge of water cycle in their respective villages and also to learn the grievance faced by the general mass.
On July 16, another coordination meeting of Jal Shakti Abhiyan was conducted at the DC’s conference hall, Longleng, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam.
During the meeting, the nodal officer of Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Vineet Joshei, highlighted about the projects and encouraged the officers to work harder to cater to the needs of the people. He spoke about the IWMP projects and the importance of water conservation and to rejuvenate the existing ponds and wells.
