- DIMAPUR — The
Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA) has extended unwavering
solidarity with the Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) and the
Nagaland NET Qualified Forum (NNQF) in their demand for immediate revocation of
the December 17, 2024, government order that regularised 147 backdoor
appointments in the Department of Higher Education.
- “This order blatantly undermines the principles of
meritocracy, transparency and equal opportunity and it is a direct insult to
the aspirations of thousands of qualified and deserving candidates, who are
diligently preparing for the NPSC Common Educational Services Examination
(CESE),” CNSA said.

- CNSA has echoed the concerns raised by CTAN and NNQF
regarding the blatant violation of the office memorandum (NO.AR-5/ASSO/98 dated
the June 6, 2016), which prohibits contract appointments. It stated that
regularisation of those posts not only disregarded the directive but also sets
a dangerous precedent that could erode public trust in the educational
institutions and governance structures.
- “We commend the CTAN and NNQF for their proactive stance in
demanding the cancellation of this order and their call for the termination of
those appointed after June 6, 2016. Their commitment to upholding the integrity
of the recruitment process is commendable and deserves our full support,” it
added.
- CNSA has urged the government of Nagaland particularly the
department of Higher Education to heed the voices of the student community and
the public by immediately revoking the unjust order. It also called for a
transparent, fair and merit-based recruitment process that upholds the
principles of justice and equality for all aspirants.
- Meanwhile, CNSA affirmed its stand with CTAN, NNQF and all
like-minded organisations in their collective pursuit of a just and equitable
educational system.
