Central leaders assures support on high court

Dimapur — Union minister of Law and Justice, Parliamentary Affairs, Art and Culture, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and the chairman of Economic Advisory Council (EAC) to Prime Minister, Dr. Bibek Debroy, have assured support of parliament approval for establishment of high court as per the requirement under the North Eastern Reorganisation Act.

The union minister, Arjun Ram Meghwal made this assurance to the state advisor of Law and Justice, TN Mannen, who called on him in his office in New Delhi on Tuesday. This was stated by Kuolie Mere, deputy director of IPR at Nagaland House, New Delhi.

It stated that Mannen had shared on the pressing problems of the department mainly relating to the construction of Nagaland State High Court and other infrastructure needed for the state. He had also shared on the requirement of parliament approval for establishment of the high court as per the requirement under the Northeastern Reorganisation Act.

It stated that the union minister was responsive to the issues and assured his support. He also expressed his willingness to visit Nagaland soon.

Mannen also called on Dr. Bibek Debroy, chairman of Economic Advisory Council (EAC) to Prime Minister, on July 7 and discussed on some important issues mainly relating to the high court infrastructure development, establishment of customary court matters. During the meeting, Manne has sought the intervention at the Prime Minister-level basing on the request made by the state chief minister. Report stated that the chairman has assured his support and cooperation to look into the matter more closely. He also mentioned few other important issues pertaining to Nagaland which has come to the notice of the Prime Minister.
