Dimapur, August 8 (EMN): An awareness programme on tobacco and drugs was conducted for inmates of Central Jail Dimapur on August 7.
District Nodal Officer NTCP, Dr. C Tetseo, gave a power point presentation on the harmful effects of tobacco and drugs. He also encouraged the inmates not to consider their term in jail as a punishment but rather as a learning centre and change their lives and contribute to the society when they come out. He also mentioned that jail environment offers unique opportunity for making decision for their future which they may not do when they are free.
More than hundred inmates, officials of the Central Jail including senior superintendent and staff attended the programme.
