Central health team to take stock of Covid situation in Manipur

Imphal, July 3 (EMN): A central team including a public health expert is expected to arrive in Imphal to study the present status of the Covid-19 pandemic and strengthen the ongoing activities, Director (Health services), Dr. K Rajo Singh informed.
Stating that the visit is a routine programme to oversee the present status of the Covid-19 pandemic and its management, another state surveillance officer of IDSP (Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme) informed that a similar team from the centre had visited the state in the past for the same purpose.
According to reports, the central government has sent six high-level multi-disciplinary public health teams to six states including Manipur reporting a high number of Covid-19 cases. The teams will assist the states of Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Manipur in Covid-19 control and containment measures, the report said.
The team sent to Manipur will be led by Dr. L Swasticharan, Additional Deputy Director General and Director EMR while the team sent to Arunachal Pradesh will be led by Dr. Sanjay Sadhukhan, Professor AIIH and PH. Dr. RN Sinha Director Professor AIIH and PH will lead the team in Tripura.
