CEM Tuliram Ronghang distributes ration cards in Bokajan

DIPHU — A total of 8,774 new ration cards under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) were distributed to beneficiaries for the Bokajan (ST) Legislative Assembly constituency at a function held at the Bokajan Sports Complex on Tuesday.

Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, spoke about the benefits of having a ration card while distributing them, stating that cardholders will receive free annual medical treatment as guaranteed by the government.

Furthermore, he stated that each self-help group (SHG) member will receive an INR 10,000 loan from the government this year after submitting their account details, which could increase to INR 15,000 to INR 1 lakh the following year if properly utilised.

“The government is always there for the poor people,” he said.
