Celebrations in Dimapur to coincide with Ayodhya ceremony

DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Hanuman Mandir Committee has chalked out elaborate plans to celebrate in Dimapur the Pran Pratishtha (consecration ceremony) of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22.

According to an update, the celebrations will include prayers, singing of hymns, offerings of churma and laddo, chhappan bhog, etc. The committee will also organise the recitals of 1,25,000 Hanuman Chalisa, with devotees able to take a pledge and participate. A havan and maha prasad will follow the completion of the chalisa recitals.

Other events planned are prabhat pheri from 5 am on January 21 and 22, consecration of Balaji deity with new clothes and aarti at 6 am, akhand kirtan from 12:15 pm to 5 pm, evening aarti at 5:30 pm, musical Sundarkand recital at 6:30 pm, and a bhandara from 4 pm on January 22.

The temple will also light 2,100 lamps on the night of January 22. Devotees have been requested to come dressed in saffron cholas and white pyjamas and saffron or red saris and close businesses by 2 pm on January 22. People have been asked to put up lights that evening in their shops and homes.
