Celebrating 150th birth annv. of Gandhi

Kohima, Sept 11 (EMN): In commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Nagaland Education Mission Society under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) Nagaland organised one act play and skit competition on Gandhian values for secondary and higher secondary school at the TM Government Higher Secondary School in Kohima on Tuesday.
State mission director, RMSA, Limawabang Aier speaking on the occasion encouraged the student’s community to be more passionate in life to use the opportunity that comes their way to achieve their goals in life. He said ‘passionate people will achieve their goals’.
He advised them to follow the ideal principles of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of ‘non-violence’ while highlighting his work and activities.
Highlighting on the significance of the programme, Joint Mission Director Visiezolie Yashu, said the event was organised as per the directive of the Human Resource Development (HRD) which will be observed globally.
He informed that the winner of the competition will be representing at the national level from Sep. 23-25, while the winner will then represent at the international level to be held from Sep. 29 to Oct. 2 under the Ministry of Culture in New Delhi.
In the competition, Jawarhar Navodaya Vidyalaya of Kohima was adjudged as the winner, while Baptist High Kohima and Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School bagged the second and third position respectively.
JNV Kohima will be representing the state at national level competition.
