Dimapur, May 30 (EMN):
Chaoha Chingnyu Students’ Union (CCSU) has resolved to revamp the education system in the village level. The resolution to this effect was taken at a joint consultative meeting with village council, Village Education Committee (VEC) and existing government teachers.

CCSU resolved to check absence of teachers, proper functioning of schools and practice of proxy teaching within the village. CCSU also asked the head teacher to maintain the attendance record of teachers and apply the government policy of “No work, no pay” to all as specified.

CCSU has also encouraged parents-teachers meet to address grievances of the respective pupil in their academic performance. CCSU was of the view that low literacy rate and low pass percentage lies not only in teachers-students learning process but parents too have important role to play.

CCSU urged the teachers, VEC and village council to take serious note of parents-teachers relationship in building their pupils. CCSU has decided to conduct periodic inspections to ensure better performance of teachers towards their duty.

CCSU president, K Thaowang, and the general secretary, C Puwang, stated that the teachers have agreed to work with sincerity.
