CCPO upholds CPO’s resolution on Naga peace talks

Kohima, Oct. 19 (EMN): The Centre Chakhesang Public Organisation (CCPO) has resolved to uphold the Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) standing resolution on the Naga peace talks.

An update from CCPO informed that the resolution was reaffirmed after a lengthy deliberation on the Naga Peace talks during its meeting held on October 17 in Sakraba town.  It stated that CCPO endorsed the decision of Centre Chakhesang GBs’ Union (CCGBU) taken during the general meeting held on March 23, 2018, at Upper Khomi village wherein the house deliberated on the need to support and elect a suitable leader from the area so as to fulfill the union’s motto ‘ Unity is strength.’

The meeting also resolved to incorporate the respective village HoDs as executive members of CCPO general body with immediate effect from the tenure 2022-2025 including all VCC and two VCMs; all head GBs and two GBs; All VDB secretaries and two 2 members; all youth presidents and two secretaries; all students’ union presidents and two secretaries and all women society chairpersons and two 2 members.

Meanwhile, a new team of CCPO for the tenure 2022-25 will be led by Shepo Hiesuh as president, Vesopa Nakro as vice president and Külüpoyi Vadeo  as general secretary.
