Dimapur, March 9 (EMN): The Chakhesang Baptist Church Minister’s Hill (CBCMH), Kohima observed ‘Mission Challenge Sunday’, on March 8, with general secretary of Nagaland Baptist Church Council Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho as the resource person.
An update received here on Sunday informed that during the morning devotional services, Keyho spoke about the advent of Christianity to Northeast India including Nagaland and how “American missionaries whose original intent to proclaim the gospel to the Shan ethnic groups in Burma and beyond, was rerouted by God’s magnanimous act to bring the Gospel to the Naga hills”.
He challenged the congregation to “rethink the mission of God as imagined within the confines of comfortable Christianity” and urged them to “realise one’s urgent responsibility to proclaim the Gospel of salvation to people” who have not been included in the mission yet. He went on to say that Nagas should spread God’s love through Jesus Christ.
Chairman of the mission department Thüjoneyi Veswüh led the congregation in praying for missionaries and evangelists and briefed the involvement of the church in the mission field.
