DIMAPUR — A two-day integration communication and outreach programme on ‘9 years of Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan-cum-photo exhibition’ organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Field Office, Tuensang, got underway at Jubilee Memorial College in Mokokchung on Thursday.

A DIPR report stated that the deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, attended the inaugural programme as the special guest and Akum I Jamir, teacher at GHS Longmisa, as the resource speaker.

Speaking on the occasion, Phoji highlighted the importance of effective utilisation of government schemes besides employment opportunities available to youth. Stating that learning is a continuous process, he encouraged the students to never stop learning as life never stops and learning is essential for achieving success.

Stressing on the importance of setting goals and targets in life, the special guest opined that only with hard work, determination and resilience, one would be able to turn one’s dreams and visions into reality.

He further informed the gathering that Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between the government and public by facilitating clear and reliable information dissemination.

Report stated that the DC also inaugurated the photo exhibition.

Meanwhile, the resource speaker focused attention on India’s ground breaking initiatives and achievements in the past nine years under Modi government for the lives of common man, putting the nation on a global map. He encouraged everyone to support the different initiatives brought about by the Modi government and to bring inclusiveness for the progress of the nation.

The programme was chaired by Tsungrosenla Jamir, assistant professor of English, while the college principal, Dr. Imtiwati Jamir, delivered the welcome address and Hingnamdi Newme, CBC field publicity officer of Tuensang, delivered the introductory speech and vote of thanks.

The programme was followed with a quiz competition and prize distribution.
