The Carp & Carp Angling Competition 2015 organized by Carp & Carp Angling Club was held on August 22 at Zani village with 88 anglers taking part in the event.
The one-day competition registered participants from Kolkata, Assam, and districts of Mokokchung, Wokha, Phek and Kohima besides Dimapur.
Competition favorite H. Lawrence of Medziphema made a total haul of 12.4 kilos to score an easy win of the main event (Total Weight Category). As overall champion, Lawrence walked away with a cash prize of Rs.20, 000 along with certificate. Zuchamo Lotha with a total catch of 5.61 kilos bagged 1st runner-up prize of Rs. 10,000 along with certificate. Cash prize of 1st runner-up was sponsored by Bloom Mobiles. Katolu Assumi with a total weight of 4.49 kilos finished 2nd runner-up fetching him a cash award of Rs. 5,000 along with certificate.
Khekaho Chishi landed the biggest catch to win the Single Biggest Catch category while M. John made the most catch with a total of 2.59 kilos to win Kawai (Talapia) Special category. Both the winners were awarded Rs. 5,000 each along with certificate.
