DIMAPUR — Under the aegis of its placement cell, the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Central Agricultural University (Imphal) in Jalukie, Peren district, organised a career counselling and job opportunities programme for students on Saturday.
Dr. Rituraj Knowar, Scientist-F at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research–North East Institute of Science and Technology (CSIR-NEIST) in Jorhat, Assam, was the resource person.
According to an update, he delivered a lecture on "Recent advances in reproductive biotechnology: emerging trends and career opportunities".
During his address, Dr. Knowar highlighted the rapid advancements in reproductive biotechnology and the diverse career prospects available in the field.

He also discussed the applications of nanotechnology and quantum dots in biomedical sciences.
He encouraged students to develop the necessary scientific skills and remain abreast of emerging technologies. Stressing the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship, he advised students not to rely solely on government employment but to explore self-employment opportunities, including establishing biotechnology-based enterprises and other entrepreneurial ventures.
