Capital College kicks off 13th Annual Sports Meet in Kohima
DIMAPUR — Capital College of Higher Education commenced its 13th Annual Sports Meet at State Stadium, PR Hill, Kohima, on Wednesday.
According to the press release issued by the media cell of the college, Kethose Chuzho, secretary of the NDPP Central Youth Organisation, attended the inaugural event as the chief guest.
In his speech, Chuzho emphasised the significance of sports in a student’s life and noted that sports not only benefit physical and mental health but also contribute to the development of social skills, communication skills, and personality.
Drawing from the example of Chekrovolu Swuro and other successful sports personalities from the state, he told the students that one can earn a living through sports even in the state.
The opening ceremony was attended by notable wrestlers and arm wrestlers such as Venuzo Dawhuo, Vemele Thingo, Huluyi D Vadeo, Vekuto Curhah, Serayi Tetseo, Rukukhoto Khusoh, Kekhriesetuo Mechulho, and Sukrure Domeh.
The three-day sports meet will conclude on April 12, with Ape Puro, proprietor of Life Fitness, attending the ceremony as the guest of honour.
