DIMAPUR — The Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) team led by President Zubemo Lotha Tsanglao attended the All India State Government Employees’ Federation (AISGEF) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting that was held at Sukumolsen Bhavan, Faridabad, from August 15 to the 18th.


According to an update, during the meeting, a brief report of the state with reference to the recent AISGEF national strike, implementation of the universal health insurance scheme under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), regularisation of contractual employees, etc., was presented.


In a women’s subcommittee meeting, Joint Secretary of CANSSEA, Toshinaro Jamir, gave a presentation on the status of women, their role in the preservation of traditional attire, and other practices of women employees in the state of Nagaland.

Some other agendas discussed in the NEC meeting included central pay revision, dearness allowances, health insurance, health and education, membership campaigns and fees, the conference of affiliates, employees’ forum magazine and literature, library, contractual employees, national conference, cultural programmes, media cell, and amendment of the constitution.


The National Executive Committee meeting also nominated four members to the post of AISGEF office-bearers, filling up vacancies. CANSSEA President Zubemo Lotha Tsanglao was inducted as one of the secretaries of AISGEF.


Another highlight of the NEC meeting included the inauguration of the AISGEF library on August 16 by KN Umesh at Sukumolsen Bhavan. Umesh also delivered the Arabindo Ghosh Centenary Lecture on the occasion.


The delegates from the northeast states under the umbrella of NESGETUF also held a special meeting with the president and general secretary of AISGEF. Various issues pertaining to the service matters of the employees in the northeast states were deliberated.


It was decided that the next NESGETUF will be held in Meghalaya at the earliest.
