EMN DIMAPUR, AUGUST 20 THE Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees` Association (CANSSEA) demanded release of the pending Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears to the State government employees without further delay. In a representation to the Chief Secretary today, the CANSSEA has brought to his notice that the DA arrears of January-June 2013 and July-December 2013 to the employees are yet to be announced by the State Government. The association stated that payment of DA is being granted by central/state governments to all its employees after every six months as matching allowance against price rise of essential commodities in the market. But, the State Government employees are yet to receive the two due installments of DA arrears of January and July 2013 even though they have to pay the escalated price in market, the representation appended by CANSSEA vice president Kepelhoutuo Chusi and joint secretary Khriesatuo Keretsu said. The CANSSEA also mentioned that the central government has released DA of 8 percent in January to its employees vide order No. 1(2)/2013-E.ii(B)Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure Dated New Delhi 25th April 2013. Further, the Union Cabinet has approved release of 10 percent DA for July 2013 to December 2013 for the central government employees recently. It pointed out that release of 8 percent DA in January 2013 by the central government to its employees has adversely affected the market as the price of essential commodities has shot up in the market.
