Canadian high commission’s first secretary arrives in Imphal

First secretary of economic affairs of Canadian high
commission David Hamilton arrived in Imphal today in a six-day official visit to Manipur.
His visit is related with economic and political affairs, said an official source, adding that during his stay in the state capital, he will study on the resource potentials and investment in the state.The source said that Canadian government has willingness to invest in Manipur to utilize the potentials of the state for investment to various schemes and projects which India government proposed to take up under the Look East and Act East Policy in Manipur.
The Canadian government is looking for investment in the projects for development of infrastructures in the field of tourism, commerce and industries, road communication and other related projects.
Soon after his arrival in the state capita, the first secretary attended a meeting chaired by state chief secretary PC Lawmkunga at the south block of the state secretariat building.
Besides top officials of some departments of the state government, the meeting was also attended by top brasses of the Border Road Organisation (BRO), Land Customs Station, Moreh and Narcotic and Border Affairs, Imphal.
