Dimapur, June 19 (EM): CAN Youth, under its project Co-IRA (information, response, action), distributed Covid equipment to ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and youth volunteers at its office premises on June 17.

An update from CAN Youth informed that the chief medical officer (CMO), Dimapur, Dr. Moatemjen Jamir, gave away the Covid equipment. Speaking at a brief programme, Dr. Moatemjen urged to work together as one in the fight against Covid along with the administration, the public, police, church-based organisation, CSOs and NGOs.

Mentioning that ASHA workers are the link between the public and the department, he reminded them of their responsibility in the community. He added that Asha should address the community’s problems by highlighting to the departments for taking necessary action in saving the lives of people.

He further encouraged the ASHA workers and community volunteers to extend their support to the community and medical department during this pandemic.

The Covid equipment included Oximeter, PPE kit, N95 masks, sanitizers, and pamphlets on Covid precautionary measures, and sanitary pad.

The Covid equipment was supported by Idea the Ant and Community Youth Collective (CYC). The equipment was distributed to seven villages under Dhansiripar, one village under Chümoukedima block and two colonies under DMC jurisdiction.
