Dimapur, Nov. 4 (EMN): A local nongovernmental organisation in Dimapur has issued a statement clarifying a quote that was attributed to an oversight by their chief functionary during an event in Dimapur recently. The CAN Youth issued a statement on Sunday clarifying a statement of one of its officials as we stated in a news report on Nov. 4.
The CAN Youth clarified a statement in the speech of the group’s leader, Jenpu Rongmei, during the launch of a scholarship campaign on Nov. 3 in Dimapur.
‘He mentioned about the offer from national news Times of India CSR. He actually means that the offer was from NE AID, Assam for education and he was supposed to thank Times of India to highlight dropouts in Northeast on 2nd January 2018, but mistakenly and unknowingly he mentioned about the help from Times of India,’ the organisation clarified.
‘With deep regret, I on behalf of CAN Youth and on behalf of chief functionary seek apologies for this unfortunate mistake on his speech,’ the note added. The press release was appended by Zhove Lohe, secretary of the group.
