CAN Youth conducts campaign for child rig

Dimapur, April 5 (EMN): CAN Youth conducted a month-long campaign to impart knowledge and encourage students to understand the importance of quality education and child rights.

The campaign, which was held from March 1 to the March 31st, was held on the theme ‘Community voice on enhancing quality education and domestic violence’. It was held in collaboration with with DKA Austria and Child Line Dimapur, an update on Monday informed.

It said that the campaign had reached out to the community and both private and Governmental schools while a poster campaign and social media campaign was also initiated around Dimapur.

Life skills training and ice breaking activities were conducted, it said.

‘Students, parents and the teachers were encouraged to lead a holistic way of life paving way for the children to not only adapt themselves to the bookish knowledge but also learn to nourish their skills in every possible way, to sustain themselves in the future and refrain themselves from domestic violence rather helping one another in creating a peaceful environment,’ read the statement.

The campaign was held at seven schools including Millennial Vision School, Burma Camp, Bronson School, Burma Camp, Government Middle School, Darogapathar, Government Town Middle School, United colony, Trinity School, Thahekhu village, Government Middle School, Veterinary colony; while it was also held with the people in Neisatuo colony and Joint Council Forum in Veterinary colony.
