Camp David: Where Adventurers pitch tents amid nature
Kohima, Dec. 4 (EMN): For all adventure seekers who want to spend the night with nature, there is a camp site by the name ‘Camp David,’ at Kigwema between the Pony Farm and Japfu Christian College, in Kohima.
Camp David was opened in 2016 by David Angami and Rohan Abraham under India Trail, a go-to organisation that promotes eco-tourism in the Northeast.
Two staff members of India Trail, Asu Jamir and David Kuravilla, told Eastern Mirror that they had accommodated over 100 campers during the past four days. Dometry tents cost INR 1150 per head and a separate tent costs INR 1400. Campers can also bring their own tents at INR 500 per head. They provide a charging point, sleeping bag and mat, a florescent torch, and breakfast. Dinner costs INR 300.
It has five toilets, four urinals, and two bathrooms; and hot water. The camp invites local bands and hosts karaoke every night from 9 pm to 11 pm but restricts music at the campsite after midnight. There is a single bonfire for campers; making own fire is restricted.
