Kohima, Aug. 6 (EMN): Cambridge Montessori Pre-School under the aegis of Jalsa Ventures was inaugurated on Saturday at New Secretariat Road in Kohima.
Invoking God's blessings upon the establishment on the occasion, Rev. Fr. Innocent, principal of Christ King Higher Secondary School Kohima, emphasised on giving utmost priority to children stating that they are ‘precious and the most important group.’
As the facility has well-equipped classrooms with teachers, he expressed confidence that the noble venture would shape the future of little ones and enable them to become responsible citizens of the society.
Reminding that people learn a lot from children and students, the priest asked both parents and teachers to cater to the needs of the children with sincerity and commitment.
Kevikuonuo Phewhuo, academic director of Cambridge Montessori, shared her dream of opening a pre-primary school with her friend Kelhousenuo Khruomo, the operational director of the establishment.
While narrating on how they had wanted to do something which could impact the society that would not only benefit them but others, Phewhuo expressed happiness that their dream had finally been materialised. Besides imparting quality or academic education, she apprised that they would bring in psychologists for assessing children and their parents as well as the faculty members on a monthly basis.
"We are sensitive about the mental issues; we want children to grow mentally and emotionally as well. So we are focusing a lot on our mental department as well," she said
Stating that their pre-school is all about multicultural and social ethnicity, she assured that they would give tender loving care to all students, who come to their school.
The school has five different classes namely 'Little hearts' comprising students of 1-2 year-old, 'Tender hearts' consisting of the age group between 2 and 3 years, nursery, UKG and LKG children.
