Call of Duty Season 6: New guns, game modes, operators and more
Dimapur, Sep. 29 (EMN): The new Season 6 update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/Warzone is finally here and the update has brought major new changes and content to the game. In this article, we will walk you through some of the biggest changes, from new guns to new game modes, which the update has brought to the first-person shooter game by Activision.
The Verdansk metro system
First up is the new metro fast travel system to help you and your team travel around Verdansk. Altogether there are seven metro stations around the map, with trains heading in both directions to whisk you between Airport, Lozoff Pass, Verdansk Center, Downtown, Barakett Shopping District, Verdansk Train Station and Torsk Bloc. You will find plenty of gear and loot inside each station as well as a ladder access from the station platform to the street in case you need to abandon your metro ride and take the fight to the urban street. The metro system is essentially a free-to-use system albeit with some rules. For instance, the train won’t move if there is any fighting on board the train or between the train and the platform. So it is best to keep the fighting to the platform, stairwells, and outside the station. Also, the train will not move to a station that is under the effects of the circle collapse so you don’t have to worry about the train taking you to an area already inside the gas.
Two new operators: Farah and Nikolai
The new Season 6 update brings two new operators to the game: Farah and Nikolai. Farah is a character from Modern Warfare 2019 game and she is an instant unlock at Tier 0 in the Warzone Season 6 battle pass. Additional skins for Farah can be unlocked by completing her operator missions. Another fan favourite, Nikolai is a character first introduced in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. However, you can only unlock Nikolai when you reach Tier 100. He also comes with additional skins which you can unlock by completing his operator missions.
Armored Royale: A brand new game mode
Armored Royale is a new fast-paced, high action Battle Royale game mode which gives every squad an armoured cargo truck, complete with a 50 cal turret, a personal buy station and the ability to deploy trophy systems. Squad members can respawn if their truck is still in one piece, but once that squad’s vehicle disappears, so does their ability to return to the fight. The game is simple: Protect your truck at all costs and make sure to blow the trucks of your opponents to smithereens.
Two new unlockable weapons: SP-R 208 marksman rifle and AS-Val suppressed assault rifle
The SP-R 208 marksman rifle is a high damage, long-range bolt action sniper rifle with insane Gunsmith customisation options. It unlocks at Tier 15 and players can customise everything about the gun from the barrel to bolt assembly to the type of ammunition. The new AS-VAL assault rifle which unlocks at Tier 31 is the 13th assault rifle in Modern Warfare and Warzone. The rifle has a built-in integral suppressor and uses the subsonic 9x39mm ammo. The weapon has a high-rate of fire and has 10 round or 30 round magazine options.
New Wartrack music packs, skins and bats
Season 6 also brings a lot of new music tracks like…a lot. You can unlock new tracks at levels 11, 28, 44 and 64 ranging from a Black Ops setlist (oh the nostalgia!) and EDM playlist. The Season 6 Battle Pass includes 100 tiers of rewards including lots of skins for guns, vehicles and characters. You can also unlock a pet bat called Edward at Tier 18 of the Battle Pass.
Self-revive is now a loot item
The must-have item of every Warzone player, self-revives are now available as a loot item. You can now literally pick up self-revives on the ground as you go about looting and causing carnage in Verdansk.
Four Free Multiplayer Maps and new game modes
Season 6 brings four new multiplayer maps for players to skirmish. There are two new multiplayer maps, one new Gunfight map and one new Ground War map.
Here are the four maps: Station – Gunfight, Broadcast – Core Modes (6v6), Mialstor Tank Factory (6v6 / 10v10) and Verdansk Riverside (Ground War).
Here are the new game modes: Killstreak Confirmed, Gun Game TDM, HQ: Firefight and Hardpoint: Hills and Kills.
Update download sizes
Season Six update will have a download size of approximately 19.6 – 63 GB for owners of the full version of Modern Warfare and free-to-play Warzone, who are up to date with the latest update.
PlayStation 4: 19.3 GB
Xbox One: 22.66 GB
PC: 57 GB (Modern Warfare owners) and 25.5 GB (Warzone only owners)
However, console players will need to also install compatibility packs if they own the full version of Modern Warfare and not just the free-to-play battle royale Warzone in order to play multiplayer, co-op and survival modes.
