Kohima, Jan. 18 (EMN): Chokri Area Baptist Youth Fellowship (CABYF) 50 years celebration concluded on January 17 at Thenyizu village under Phek district. It was held on the theme ‘Proclaim liberty in Christ.’

The three-day celebration was marked by series of competition with villages under Chokri area taking part. For theme song, Khulazu Basa village choir was declared the winner, followed by Phusachodu and Thenyizu village in second and third positions respectively.

Host village Thenyizu won the first position for choir with instrument, while Chetheba won second and Khulazu Basa third place.

For indigenous tune, Thenyizu was adjudged the winner, with Thipuzu and Phusachodu won second and third place respectively.

For quartet, Phusachodu village won the first place, Thenyizu and Chesezu village won the second and third place respectively. In Bible quiz competition, Chetheba got first, Thenyizu-second and Thipuzu-third.

Meanwhile for solo competition, Phusachodu took the first position, while Thipuzu and Chesezu won second and third.

The main speakers of the celebration were Rev. P Bonny Resü, lead pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church, Dimapur; Rev. Dr Sülüveyi Rhakho, director, Harvest Ministries International; and Rev. Dr. Chekrovei Cho-o, Professor of Applied Theology, Oriental Theological Seminary, Bade, Dimapur.

Colo Mero, Director of Life Ministries was the resource person for the workshop on the topic “A Ministerial Challenge: Faith in Action.”

The next Chokri Area Baptist Youth Fellowship will be held at Khulazu Basa village in 2023 with Vecutso Nyekha as the CABYF chairman.
