Dimapur, Nov. 5 (EMN): C-Edge College introduced Japanese language programme on November 5 via online mode.
In his welcome address, Moa Aier, president of the college, mentioned that the certificate course programme was a long awaited one and thanked God for making it possible. He also mentioned that many are taking up Japanese language programme for different purposes such as learning a new language, learning new culture and career opportunity.
He further stated that they have planned to develop the programme into a full-fledged course in the days to come with support from Japan Foundation.
The online inaugural programme was also attended by the director of Japan Foundation India, Kousuke Noguchi. He has termed as a historic moment not only in Nagaland but also in India and added that the Japanese embassy has been informed of the programme.
He also mentioned that learning Japanese language has job prospects in India as well as in Japan. Stating that many Japanese companies in India are looking for Japanese speaking candidates, he expressed confidence that job potential for future is high. He later declared the Japanese language programme opened.
One of the teaching faculty members for the Japanese language, Hiroyuki Ohtaki, who was also present at the event, was introduced to the participants by the language advisor of Japan Foundation, Yoko Kanagae. He also highlighted the overview of the Japanese language course through power point presentation.
Speech on behalf of the first batch language programme was delivered by Sentiben of BA 3rd semester student, while Alongti of BA 5th semester presented a song.
The event concluded with remarks by the co-ordinator of the C-Edge College Japanese language programme, Kevimesu Naleo.
