Bye-election: Model code of conduct comes into force in Kiphire

Dimapur, Oct. 2 (EMN): Following the announcement of bye-election to the 60th Pungro, Kiphire assembly constituency by the Election Commission India and in pursuance of the chief electoral officer, the District Election Officer (DEO) of Kiphire, Abhinav Shivam, has informed that the model code of conduct comes into force with immediate effect throughout the district and shall be in force till the completion of lection process.
The political parties, intending candidates, government departments and general public are informed to take note of the same and adhere strictly to the model code of conduct to ensure peaceful conduct of the bye-election.
The schedule of the conduct of bye-election is as follows:
- Announcement and issue of press note: Oct. 29
- Date of issue of gazette notification: Oct. 9
- Last date of nominations: Oct. 16
- Date for security of nominations: Oct. 17
- Last date for withdrawal of candidates: Oct. 19
- Date of poll: Nov. 3
- Date of counting: Nov. 10
- Date before which election shall be completed: Nov. 12
- Consequent the announcement of Bye-Election to 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency.
