Governor Nand Kishore Yadav highlights value-based education, NEP 2020 and AI readiness at Byatikram Education Conclave 9.0 in Dimapur.

DIMAPUR — Governor of Nagaland Nand Kishore Yadav on Monday underscored the need for a future-ready, value-based education system that equips students with knowledge, skills, innovation and strong moral values to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
Addressing the Byatikram Education Conclave 9.0, organised by the Byatikram Group in association with The Times of India at the Town Hall, Dimapur, the Governor described education as the most powerful instrument of transformation as India advances towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Yadav said the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 provides a robust roadmap through multidisciplinary learning, critical thinking, innovation and skill development.
In an era marked by artificial intelligence and rapid technological advancement, he said students must become lifelong learners, innovators and responsible citizens.
Yadav emphasised that education should empower young people not only to seek employment but also to create opportunities and make meaningful contributions to society.
He also highlighted the Northeast's immense strengths in its cultural diversity, rich heritage, indigenous knowledge and youthful talent, stating that quality education, research and innovation could transform the region into a vibrant hub of knowledge and economic growth.

"True success lies not only in achievement, but in the positive impact you make on society," the governor said.
Delivering the welcome address, Swami Chinmayanandaji Maharaj said education should not merely focus on material success but also foster spiritual growth.
He stressed the importance of value-based, moral and spiritual education in shaping responsible citizens.
Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University Nagaland, Prof. Dr. Amit Kumar Aditya, said rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, biotechnology and digital innovation require education systems to evolve continuously.
He said the NEP's emphasis on multidisciplinary learning, innovation, skill development and holistic education is essential for preparing students for future challenges, adding that quality education holds the key to unlocking the Northeast's vast potential.
Meritorious students from across Nagaland were felicitated during the conclave.
The event also featured three panel discussions on "Building a sustainable career in alignment with the educational curriculum", "Beyond grades: skill-based learning and employability", and "Adapting to the AI revolution."
The first panel comprised Pratik Dutta, Dr. Sanjay Barman, Uttam Singh, Dr. Atul Ch. Kalita and Sritakshi Naha.
The second featured Dr. Phool Kumari, Sagar Saikia, Nikhil Krishna, Dr. Nukshil Esther Imsong, Dr. Dalia Bhattacharjee and S. Kossame Konyak, while the final session on artificial intelligence was led by Shanchamo Yanthan, Rishav Sethi, Sravani Kar, Aloka Debnath and Dr. Rinky Choudhury.
