Bus carrying BSF personnel meets with accident in Nagaland’s Wokha district

Wokha, Jan. 6 (EMN): A bus carrying BSF personnel of 62 Battalion “F” COY met with an accident in Wokha around 2.40 pm on January 5 when it was on its way to Akuluto in Zunheboto district on election duty for the upcoming Nagaland Legislative Assembly election.
The accident took place between Tsungki Bazaar “2” and Mokokchung-Doyang Bridge under Wokha district of Chukitong Range, as the bus carrying 41 BSF personnel including the driver and the handyman rolled down 50 to 60 feet below the road.
As many as 25 personnel were injured in the accident and five of them including the handyman were said to be seriously injured. Sources said that the handyman was shifted to Oking Hospital Kohima on Friday evening itself and four others were shifted to Guwahati for further medical treatment.
Personnel who suffered minor injuries are being given treatment at Wokha District Hospital.
It was informed that the district administration, Wokha Police led by SP Aotula T Imchen and some public of the Chukitong range rushed to the accident site after hearing about the mishap to extend help. DEF Wokha also provided blankets to the injured personnel admitted at District Hospital Wokha.
