DIMAPUR — The Bumblebee Society, in collaboration with Holy Family Hospital, New Delhi, and supported by Anaha Public Charitable Trust, organised a two-day training on autism, sensory processing disorders, and behaviour management on August 7 and 8 at the Nagaland Olympic Association Cafeteria, Kohima.
The workshop was conducted by specialists from the Early Intervention Team of Holy Family Hospital, New Delhi, who provided expert knowledge and practical strategies to participants, stated a press release.
The sessions emphasised that behaviour is often a form of communication and offered tools for addressing challenges faced by children with autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. Participants were trained to identify sensory sensitivities, implement structured “sensory diets”, and apply occupational therapy techniques to enhance regulation, learning, and social participation.
Parents, educators, and social workers from Phek, Dimapur, and Kohima attended the programme.
