BST organises free health camp in Mokokchung

Dimapur, April 10 (EMN): Benpulin Semchir Telongjem (BST) organised a free health camp at Government Middle School, Kumlong in Mokokchung town in commemoration of 25th year anniversary, on Saturday.

An update stated that nearly two hundred patients from Kumlong and Mongsenbai ward availed the free medical check-up and medicines.

It informed that Dr. Imliyatet Ozukum and his team from UPHC Yimyu ward conducted the camp. It said that health workers from mobile integrated counselling and testing centre, revised national TB control programme and national vector borne disease control programme under CMO Mokokchung conducted extensive blood tests of the patients.

It stated that the team provided free medicines to the patients after their check-up while they referred some complicated cases to other clinics.

It added that Nungsang Jamir speaking on behalf of the Telongjem, expressed gratitude to the medical team for conducting the camp and providing free healthcare services and medicines while Sentirenla Longchar, on behalf of the medical team expressed gratitude to all concerned for availing their services in conducting the camp.

It may be mentioned that the children and grandchildren of Late Benpulin Jamir, a pioneering Ungma citizen and one of the first settlers of Kumlong ward in Mokokchung town, formed the Telongjem. It has been actively involved in different activities in the ward and beyond. Besides that, a volleyball trophy in memory of Late Benpulin is organsied annually in the intervening week of Christmas and New Year. It added that the anniversary celebration would culminate in December.
