DIMAPUR, March 1
A BSNL official was shot dead late Sunday in Dimapur by an unidentified man. However, till the filing of this report there were conflicting reports pouring in. Some sources said the official identified as one Gaithuikungpu Mukta Rongmei, sub divisional engineer (SDE), BSNL Zunheboto was about to have dinner in his house at Naga Gaon in Dimapur when an unidentified masked man came and shot him point blank in his face twice and fled.
The incident occurred at around 8 pm on Sunday. He was rushed to Nikos Hospital, Midland but succumbed on the way. This report is yet to be confirmed officially.
Intelligence sources said the Gaithuikungpu Mukta Rongmei was a sub divisional engineer (SDE) of BSNL posted at Zhunheboto. Meanwhile, the police have no clue about the culprit and the reason for the act.
