Dimapur, August 22 : Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) India has signed an MoU with Microsoft India offering complete suite of Telecom and IT solutions for enterprise business. This was announced by the BSNL officials on Monday at a press conference held in Dimapur.

The telecom officials also announced that customers of BSNL will be able to make free unlimited free calls on every Sunday from BSNL landline phones to all networks in the country. This scheme is mainly to promote its landline phone, it added.
Admitting that BSNL had suffered heavy loss in the past amounting to Rs.691 crore, the country’s telecom sector is looking forward to an increase in its revenue this financial year especially with announcement of several schemes.

BSNL has launched new student plan of Rs.118 which allows 1 GB data for 30 days with call rate of 10 paisa/minute. The State run operator has also increased the download speed offer Fair Usage Policy (FUP) quota under unlimited broadband plan from existing 512 kbps to 1 Mbps.

Giving a challenge to private telecom operators, BSNL has been consistently providing highest growth with respect to subscriber addition in mobile segment. The aggressive and competitive tariff has helped BSNL to increase its market share and BSNL is cheapest in data tariff while offering 1 GB data pack for mere Rs.68 which is for one day, 1 GB data pack for Rs.198 (28 days) and 2 GB data pack for Rs.291 (28 days).

While giving out the newly launched plans of BSNL to media persons, the officials invited customers feedback and suggestion to improve the services and make BSNL transparent.
