BSG movement fosters growth of young minds – Governor Ganesan

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan on Monday said that the Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) movement fosters the growth and development of young minds by promoting principles of selflessness, compassion, and responsibility.

The governor said the movement encourages individuals to become active members of society and contribute positively to the community, the PRO Raj Bhavan stated in an update.

Ganesan was addressing the Rajya Puraskar ceremony of the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) held at Dr. Imkongliba Ao hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima.

The governor, who is also the chief patron of the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides, also said that the movement will empower young boys and girls to become responsible citizens and leaders of tomorrow through various activities and initiatives.

He said the Rajya Puraskar ceremony, the highest award for Scouts and Guides at the state level, is held to recognise and acknowledge the efforts and accomplishments of young Scouts and Guides.

Stating that the awards presented during the ceremony are more than mere symbols of recognition, Ganesan went on to state that they are a testament to the hard work, commitment, and exemplary conduct of the young members of the NSBSG.

The Governor gave away the certificates to 43 Rajya Puraskar awardees in the presence of the secretary of Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) and other NSBSG officials.

Secretary, YRS, Anthony Ngullie, who is also the vice president of NSBSG, delivered the keynote address, and vice president, NSBSG, K Neibou Sekhose, proposed a vote of thanks.

The programme was compered by the state organising commissioner (Guide), Vimezhonu Tetso.
