BSF Raising Day observed in Kohima, Zunheboto

DIMAPUR — The 111 Bn Border Security Force (BSF) celebrated the 59th BSF Raising Day on December 1 at Satakha, Zunheboto district.

According to a DIPR report, the celebrations began with a cultural programme highlighting the force's rich heritage, followed by barakhana, to which former personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), families of BSF martyrs, and civil dignitaries were invited.

Representing all ranks, Commandant Sanjay Tandan provided a historical perspective on the establishment of the BSF. He highlighted its pivotal role and significant contributions to various aspects of national security since its inception.

The commandant also stated that the BSF's tremendous potential is backed by steadfast action and determination, as a result of which the force has been bestowed with the status of a dependable warrior and will always live up to its motto of ‘Jeevan Paryant Kartavya’.

During the observation at Chedema, Kohima, Vinod Kumar, Commandant, 37 Bn BSF, praised all BSF troops for their dedication to securing the country as India's first line of defence.

He also discussed the force's track record of multi-role operations such as maintaining internal law and order, combating terrorism, and working 24x7 under hostile conditions with the sole purpose of safeguarding the nation and protecting the nation's interests.
