Brown sugar trail leads to arrests of three in Mokokchung
MOKOKCHUNG — Mokokchung Police seized brown sugar valued at over INR 1 lakh and apprehended three individuals in connection with the incident on April 12.
According to the Yimyu Ward Authority, around 10 pm on that day, one person identified as Imotiba, aged 46, from Mongsenyimti village, who is a government employee residing at Yimyu Ward House No. 23, was apprehended in possession of two soap cases and three small tobacco pods containing brown sugar.
A source reported that Nungshiyanger, aged 56, a government employee residing at Anentsubo Sector, Mokokchung village House No. 302, was also apprehended in this matter. He allegedly brought brown sugar concealed in four small tobacco pods from Imotiba.
Another government employee, Sarenba Aier, aged 54, from Mopungchuchet village, residing at Artang Ward House No. 222, was also apprehended for possession of one small tobacco pod containing brown sugar, reportedly purchased from Nungshiyanger.
A case has been registered at Police Station 2 of Mokokchung town, and an investigation is currently underway.
