Brazilian forward Uilliams joins Shillong Lajong

Shillong Lajong Football Club has announced that it had signed of Uilliams Bomfin Souza Silva for the I-League 2013-14 Season.The industrious forward has put pen to paper with the Reds and is the fourth foreigner in the Lajong squad. The 24 year old who arrived in Shillong on Saturday will be the first ever Brazilian to play for Lajong.
Although, Charles Edoa was initially announced by the club as the fourth foreigner, the deal fell through due to unforeseen complications in the visa and transfer applications.
Uilliams joins the North East I-League Club from J-League 2 side Sports Club Sagamihara.
On signing the contract with Lajong, he said “I look forward to my future with Shillong Lajong and I believe that I can make a real contribution to the team’s efforts to win trophies in the future.”
General Manager of Shillong Lajong FC, Habamutlang Lyngdoh said, “We are very pleased to have Uilliams with us this season as he is a player that can do very well for us. The Brazilian has got some wonderful talent with him having experienced professional football in Brazil as well as Japan. With his positive attributes and quality, we believe he can help the club achieve success this season.”
