BPCC (A-N) appeals for restrain from unwarranted activities

EMN DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 12 IN view of abduction of four tea garden labourers from a from a tea plantation at Selenghat bordering Nagaland Wednesday morning by suspected armed UGs from Nagaland for ransom, the Border Peace Coordination Committee (Assam-Nagaland) has appealed to all concerned to restrain themselves from such unwarranted activities and stick to democratic ways of settling any conflict for peace and coordination among all. The BPCC(A-N), in a release issued by its president BP Bora and vice president Imsu Jamir today, said even though it is learnt that the matter has subsided after the workers released, the incident appeared to create panic in different circles hampering peace and coordination specially in the sensitive border areas of Assam and Nagaland. The release said the section of the society involving in such unwarranted activities should realise that by such activities they not only harm the society but also harm themselves in various ways even though they feel that they have gained out of such acts. The social organizations or the state governments may not be able to reach or book such wrong doers but they will not be relieved of the sin of their misdeeds, the BPCC(A-N) explained. The release said the BPCC(A-N) has been trying to mobilise and disseminate peace amongst all since its inception so that there is peace and coordination among all, specially among the border people. However, the BPCC(A-N) stated it was saddened hear of the lifting of 4 workers at work . The BPCC(A-N) also extended good wishes for the ensuing Christmas and New Year and appeal to all to take pledge on this occasion for peace, coordination and development of all. “Let these festivities bring essence of brotherhood among each other for a desired welfare of ours which is the call of the day,” the BPCC(A-N) said.
