Boy kidnapped for ransom found murdered

Dimapur, Aug. 3 (EMN): A 15 year-old boy, Kumugha Chishi, who was kidnapped for ransom on July 30 was found murdered on Fri. Aug. 3 at Lotovi village in Dimapur.

As per the public relations officer of Dimapur police, Relo T Aye, Chishi went missing on July 30 and the chairman of Lotovi village council who is the father of the victim started receiving calls from the abductors on the same evening demanding a sum of INR two lakh.

The family filed an FIR on July 31 and on Aug. 1 two of the kidnappers were apprehended from Lotovi village based on technical surveillance. Consequently with the assistance of Lotovi villagers the remaining three kidnappers were arrested on the same day, said Aye.

He said after sustained interrogation the police got the breakthrough to the case on Aug. 3 in the form of verbal admission from the five accused persons.

As per the admission of the accused, the boy was known to them and he was murdered on the same evening he was kidnapped.

The victim was strangulated and the highly decomposed body was recovered from a jungle behind Government Middle School in Lotovi village.

An investigation team has been set up in this connection and all five accused were apprehended before the transaction could be carried out, said the PRO to media persons.
